Battle of the bosses: Who won the war of wits between Mourinho and Fergie?

Sport Notices runs the rule over the touchline tacticians to see who came out on top.

Did they pick the right team?
ALEX FERGUSON was right to choose a defensive midfielder in Phil Jones to act as a screen alongside Michael Carrick in front of the back four.
He got other big calls right, going for Danny Welbeck, who got the goal, and having faith in Jonny Evans rather than Nemanja Vidic.
Jose Mourinho stuck with 19-year-old Raphael Varane with Pepe not fit enough for a full match yet.
What influence did they have on the game?
MOURINHO was his typical self — constantly out in his technical area being theatrical.
His half-time message must have been brief though as he came out early to sit on the bench on his own.
Ferguson got the gameplan right and got the result. He did not need to do much directing from the sidelines with just the odd reminder from him here and there.
Did they use their substitutes wisely?
FERGIE was right to withdraw Shinji Kagawa in favour of Ryan Giggs midway through the second half as the game passed him by.
Welbeck ran himself into the ground and the boss brought on Antonio Valencia. Likewise Anderson for tired Wayne Rooney.
Mourinho replaced ineffective Benzema with Gonzalo Higuain while Luka Modric was brought on for the last 15 minutes.
What do we expect for the second leg?
AN incredible night at Old Trafford if this was anything to go by.
The atmosphere will be red hot with United sensing a first really big European knockout win for some time.
The onus will be on Madrid to attack and the Red Devils can catch them on the counter.
Of course, it will take another big performance like this.
