Scholes faces fortnight on sidelines

Paul Scholes

ALEX FERGUSON expects Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes to be out for another fortnight with a knee injury.

Scholes, 38, missed the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in midweek after struggling to shake off the problem.
And Ferguson has confirmed the midfielder will not be available for Monday’s FA Cup tie with Reading.
The United boss said: “It is a knee injury, which has been bothering him a bit.
“We have tried another treatment during the week. He will probably be back in another couple of weeks.”
Ferguson is ready to make changes to his side following the Champions League encounter at the Bernabeu.
But he insists United will not take the FA Cup fifth-round clash with Reading lightly.
The Scot added: “We want to get to the quarter-finals and we do expect to qualify.”
Meanwhile, Ferguson has highlighted the need to be patient with his young players.
